One of the main questions I get asked is how to prevent chafing. So when Monistat® asked me to put their Chafing Relief Powder Gel® to the Ultimate test, I was like… “Let’s do this!”The product itself has a great consistency- very silky. It went on leaving my skin feeling smooth and didn’t leave any weird residue. I used about a quarter size dab and slathered it in my armpits, under my boobalas, on my inner thighs and at my bikini line. Then I set out to put the product to the ultimate test.
After spending the weekend in the sun running, hiking, swimming and dancing I was #SafeFromChafe. I wore the product for around 6 hours and did not reapply. Everyone’s body and PH is a little bit different so you may have to reapply more or less often than I do.I ran a mile in booty shorts, in 90 degree weather and I was fine! No chafe on me. Not even a little. It takes a lot for me to say a product is amazing and Chafing Relief Powder Gel® is simply that, amazing. If you want to try it out yourself you can find it in your feminine hygiene aisle or purchase it through amazon here.

Recently I headed out on a fun little weekend getaway to San Antonio, Texas. You may not know it, but Amazon called this Texas jewel the “Most Romantic City in the US.” Maybe something I should have researched before heading out on my road trip. Because of course, I go to the most warm fuzzy, love filled city as a single girl who’s closest love is a bottle of wine and internet shopping.
My Road Warrior Look
For my on the road experience, I kept things comfortable. I like to wear clothes that I can move in. Bonus, if they can hide the inevitable chip dust that gets on everything as a result of driving and road trip snacking simultaneously. Hence, the patterned shirt. Also if you’re looking for the ultimate road trip bathroom experience, you ought to check out Buccee’s- it’s magical. Yes, I just called a rest stop magical and it wasn’t a hyperbole. Here what I wore for my “Road Warrior” look.
No visit to San Antonio is complete without a stop at the Alamo, infamous for Davy Crocket’s last stand. While historically it has an impressive history, it’s visually less exciting than I imagined. I found San Antonio’s lesser celebrated gem- the San Fernando Cathedral- much more architecturally pleasing. Obviously, I’m a sucker for pretty things ,so that might have played into forming my opinion.
Touring around the city the temperatures were around 95 degrees and oh so sunny. Luckily, I had picked these rad shorts and lightweight t-shirt to help me deal. Maybe I should have worn sandals, but I personally appreciate a little extra cushioning for my feet when walking on concrete for long stretches of time. Sometimes you have to sacrifice one type of comfort for another. Here’s what I wore for my “Sassy Sightseer” look
After stomping around historical San Antonio, I didn’t just want pool time, I needed it. Luckily the hotel provided me with a great option to help me chill. However, I secretly wish I had an infinite budget for adventuring because then I would have checked out JW Marriott’s award winning lazy river just outside San Antonio. I have been jokingly telling people this is my dream destination for over a year. However, I’m not sure it’s a joke anymore. What’s better then floating down a perfectly manicured river with an adult beverage in your hand? Here’s the details on my Simply Be bikini: bikini top and bottom.
Making an Entrance
If you want authentic Mexican cuisine, San Antonio is the place to go. You’ll need to step off the riverwalk to fine one of the best places for fiesta filled foods. Just off the cobble stone tourist filled path is Mi Tierra, a place that claims to have the “best Mexican food,” and actually lives up to it. If you’re determined to dine with views of the river, my recommendation is Biga on The banks. It’ not Mexican, but you can’t always get everything you want.
I like to rock a good jumpsuit out for dinner. It’s comfortable and with so many options on the market these days it’s easy to find one that fits the occasion perfectly. Plus, if you decide to drink and dance it up, you don’t have to worry about flashing anyone. Here’s what I used to create my “Margarita Mama” look.
I couldn’t leave San Antonio without a leisurely stroll down the Riverwalk. The Riverwalk is a pretty magical place with colored umbrellas dotting the cobble stone roads, water features decorating the paths and lovely landscaping. If you want to explore the Riverwalk by boat, avoid the expensive tour boats and instead use the city’s water taxi for a fraction of the cost.
I chose a muted dress for the river walk because I knew everything would be so colorful- why compete? I love how airy and girly this dress felt. It was perfect piece for my last day of exploring. To recreate this “Ruffled Riverwalk” look, follow the details below.
I can’t not share this look. I am on cloud nine as a result of its bold colors, sassy flounced hems, and sassy shades. I feel like the might phoenix of the pool. A bold bird rising up from the ashes of the work week- born anew in the gold rays of the sun. Bonus, the suit is so comfortable and I feel content in the fact I turned a totally fugly shirt, into a totally adorable cover up simply by slicing it down the front.
Here’s the details on the pieces I am rocking in this look.
The straw tote is from Target. It’s sold out but I like this alternative.
Athleisure wear is comfortable. Athleisure wear is cute. But athleisure wear is not work appropriate… or is it? I challenged myself to define a new fashion class.
Call it busleisure, workletics, jobsport or whatever other quirky new age name you want. I will simply call it comfortable at the cubicle, wearable at the water cooler, and baller at the board meeting.
This look perfectly encompasses the merger of my business and sporty self. The dress is a structured, funky yet, classic business look from Eloquii. However, instead of a predictable blazer I’ve paired this stunner with a kimono style cropped work out jacket from Nike (no longer available, but I like this alternative).
To add a little more oomph to the look, I paired this fashion knock out with my favorite necklace from my home girl Nina Berenato and my favorite gold as eff sneakers (also from Nike, no longer available but here’s an alternative). The result is style that make you wonder- just wear is this girl going? She’s going to run the world, sir. She’s going to run the world.
It’s Friday so here’s a bunch of photos of me and my dog with wind blown hair and nautical vibes. Shout to Data for putting up with my constant shenanigans. The striped dress is from Old Navy, superbly comfortable espadrille shoes are from Target, and the necklace is a vintage find from Good Will. Save
Today was my ode to the relaxed cool girl look. Look at me wearing a cute dress with sneakers and a denim jacket- I am so damn cool. I wanted to be comfy, but I also wanted to look like I kind of made an effort. You know, in that “single mom back on the market going to the grocery store looking for produce… and new love” kind of way. The layering of the floral mesh over the dress was a massive experiment and I’m beyond pleased with how it worked out. I love how some of the florals pop bright with the layer of hot coral behind them. Hot Coral, such an excellent band name. We could wear crowns made of seashells and the drummer could wear a rainbow neck-brace with streamers that makes him look like a jellyfish. Clearly, I need a vacation… Outfit details after this adorable photo break. The striped hot coral dress is from Torrid, and also easily converts to a tube dress. It’s a nice little spring/summer essential. The ruffled floral mesh overlay is from New Look and I’ve knotted it just below the bust line to define my waist. This jean jacket is the only proof in my wardrobe that I am a successful crafter; I took an old Torrid denim jacket and hand painted the design on the back. My earrings were purchased in India, my sneakers from Nike (here’s a great gold sneaker alternative), and my glasses as a last minute splurge from Ashley Stewart.
